Caffe Latte
What is a caffe latte? | Caffe Latte is also referred to as latte which is a type of espresso-based drink. It contains 1 to 2 espresso in total and then lightly steamed milk is added to it. |
How is it served? | Traditionally, it is served in a tall glass but now it is common that you get it in a big cup. Not only the way of serving has changed but the total espresso added in it has changed. |

Foam | One of the major differences between latte, cappuccino, and flat white is the amount of foam in it. In all 3 cappuccino contains it in excess. |

What is the standard amount of foam for different coffees?
Although the type of cup which is used will make a difference, the standard approach which is followed is:
Caffe latte: 1-2cm of foam |
Flat white: 1-2cm of foam |
Cappuccino: 2-4cm of foam |

Originates from | It is from Australia whereas most of the other coffee drinks are from Italy. |
How is it served? | Usually, these are served in a glass but a small mug can also be used. |
Espresso count | The size needs to be around 200ml and the 2 espressos are used for it. This is the reason, it will have a strong coffee lover as compared to the other 2 options. |
Amount of foam | The total amount of foam needs to be just around ~1cm and not more than that. |
Perfect to create latte art | A small amount of espresso and little foam is going to make the best drink. Moreover, latte art can be created with this. |
Cappuccino
Where does the name cappuccino come from? | It comes from the Capuchin monks and it is referred to as the color of the cape which reminds the cappuccino surface. |
How is it served? | From a 150-200ml and with one espresso |
Amount of foam | The amount should be doubled and it needs to be 2 to 4 cm on the milk top. |
Standard for cappuccino | 1 part espresso 1 part warm milk 1 part foam The adobe mentioned approach is outdated and cappuccino should always come in single espresso. |
